Social Media Specialist (ASEAN Basketball League) – SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT with the possibility to renew
The Social Media Specialist will function as a direct support to the Social Media Manager in managing owned social media, web and mobile properties. This includes partner/agency management, social media optimization, growth strategy and execution, content strategy and reporting. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, creative, completely tech and sports savvy, has sound copywriting skills, has an eye for detail, and can work well independently as a one-person-band to produce high quality pieces for promotional use.
He or she represents TenStrong Management Consultancy, Inc. (TMCI) as an international consulting firm, acts as the main digital content support to multiple projects, helping to maintain efficient marketing and communications processes. The Social Media Specialist is part of our international Marketing and Communications team and reports to the project head based in Manila, Philippines.

Major Responsibilities:
Implement growth hacking strategy and execution
Collaborate with the project head to develop an editorial calendar/digital content for the website and across all social media platforms, and ensure identified digital content is relevant to our audience and consistent with the brand’s identity and overall marketing strategy
Work with the media/creative team to establish all editorial processes, standards, guidelines and style guides to ensure brand consistency, establish quality benchmarks and produce optimal editorial and marketing content
Communicate ABL’s daily storylines and messaging, including the latest league and team news and features
Interact with website developers to ensure timely delivery of all website enhancements
Edit, proofread, and improve writers’ copy (when necessary)
Provide weekly and monthly reporting on social media analytics and make recommendations for improvement in optimization, content effectiveness and social media strategy
Ensure compliance with law (e.g. copyright and data protection)
Work under extremely tight deadline and changing priorities as well as handling of multiple projects simultaneously

Required Experience and Knowledge:
Knowledge of the local/global market (Asia) basketball audience
Understanding of local/global social media platforms and consumer consumption of each
Experience with content development for social networking sites
Strong sense of graphic design and creative mind
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Internet and computer-savvy; familiar with key sites and functionalities
Understanding of web content/UI and UX design
Able to work confidently with a variety of software and have an affinity for technology
Strong writing skills, including editorial experience
Willing to work unpredictable hours and quick to adapt to changes in communications strategy
Must be willing to travel to different countries in Asia (if necessary)
Candidate Profile and Educational Background:
Fresh graduates preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Business Management
Being a basketball fan is a plus
Design skills using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, or Illustrator, and experience in non-linear editing using Adobe Premiere is a plus (knowledge of other video editing software is an added advantage)
Excellent command of both spoken and written English (Chinese-Mandarin language ability is preferred)
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
