Paralegal / Legal Assistant – preferably with Accounting background

Role Purpose:
The Paralegal shall assist the lawyers of the legal department in drafting contracts, board resolutions, secretary’s certificates, general information sheets, and other legal documents. He /She shall assist in conducting legal research. The Paralegal is in charge of maintaining and organizing the files of the legal department, attend meetings whenever his/her presence is required and give logistical support to the legal department.
Key Criteria/Responsibilities:  
•Preparation of legal documents from templates.
•Administration of document ordering processes
•Review legal documents
•Perform other job-related duties as assigned and assist lawyers when needed.

Job Description:
•Prepare case briefs and summarize depositions, interrogatories and testimony
•Conduct investigations and statistical/documentary research
•Locate and develop case relevant information
•Answer and direct phone calls
•Maintain contact lists
•Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars
•Experience with the preparation of legal documents from templates.

Qualifications:  
•Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Law or equivalent
•Proven working experience as legal assistant or legal secretary
•Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and court system
•Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
•Computer literacy
•Working knowledge of case management software
•Excellent secretarial and organisational skills
•Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure
•Legal Assistant certification or diploma
•Has excellent critical thinking and problem-solving.
•Attention to detail and absolute confidentiality/ discretion.
•Experience in working for a company in the legal industry is an advantage (but do not necessarily require a law degree).
•Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills (Fluent English is necessary).
•Ability to work independently and in a team environment, handling multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency.
