IT Assistant

The position is responsible for creating, developing, installing, maintaining, and modifying IT infrastructure, systems and solutions used to support operational processes at the property level.

• Identifies and analyzes end-user requirements and recommends appropriate applications or modifications.
• Position Code Title – Junior IT Staff (serves as a first-level staff directly reporting to first level supervisor)
• Position Code Title – Senior IT Staff (serves either as a second-line staff reporting to first level supervisor and handling highly confidential IT support activities)
• Supports the IT Supervisor in performing property based operational and tactical IT planning and implementation.
• Assists the IT Supervisor in benchmarking, analyzing, reporting on, and making recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems located in the property.
• Assists the IT Supervisor to develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
• Assists the IT Supervisor in developing and implementing all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.
• Assists the IT Supervisor in developing requests for proposals for property based IT requisitions.
• Assists the IT Supervisor negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
• Facilitates team activities by adhering to work assignments, priorities, and directions coming from the IT leadership staff
• Works with the IT Supervisor in business application solutions optimization and fine-tuning
• Works with the IT Supervisor in WAN, LAN, and PABX system optimization and fine-tuning
• Works with the IT Supervisor in data center management and server system optimization and fine-tuning.
• Works with the IT Supervisor to implement improvements to the corporate IT security systems including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
• Assists the IT supervisor in the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals in the property.
• Participates in the provisioning of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services in the property.
• Researches potential technology solutions.
• Practices asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment located in the property.
• Investigates user problems and needs, identify their source, and determine possible solutions.
• Participates in the development, implementation, installation, and testing of applications software.
• Participates in the development of training materials and assists in conducting training and workshops.
• Investigates, recommends and installs new applications.
• Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
• Documents programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
• Assists personnel of other departments as a computer resource.
• Provides on-the-job training to new department staff members.
• Provides computer orientation to new company staff.
• Performs all assigned duties efficiently, technically correct, follows Company policies, rules and regulations, requests of Superiors, adheres to procedures and achieve a high standard leading to total guest and Company satisfaction.
• Complies with all Corporate / Company Standards and Procedures.
• Updates oneself and follow security/fire/safety procedures according to Company’s rules and regulations.
• Attends divisional/departmental meeting and training when requested. Conducts regular staff meetings to keep all associates informed.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned by immediate superiors from time to time
